  2. Mitt Romney Family Life/Growing Up he was born March 12, 1947 Mitt Romney was the son of Lenore and George W. Romney, he was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Later, in 1969, he married Ann Davies, and the couple had five kids together.

  3. Mitt Romney’s early government days In 1975, Mitt Romney has a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. Romney attended Stanford University in 1965–1966 for a year. He won 68% of the vote at the May 1994 Massachusetts Republican Party convention. Romney defeated Lakian in the September 1994 primary with over 80% of the vote. Romney was elected Governor of Massachusetts in 2002. Kennedy won the election with 58% of the vote to Romney's 41%.

Ready to be a choice for a President Romney opposes both same-sex marriage and civil unions.If he was elected he would try to pass an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to legally define marriage as "the union of one man and one woman.” He now opposes access to abortion. In addition to calling for cuts in federal government spending to help reduce the national debt, Romney has said he would gradually raise the ages for collecting Social Security, Medicare, and other entitlement programs benefits. He favors large increases in military spending, and has promised to increase military weapons programs and to increase the number of active-duty military personnel.

If Mitt Romney is President… If elected president, Romney says he will remove the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (”Obamacare") and replace it with a system that give states more control over Medicaid and makes health insurance. Romney opposes the use of mandatory limits on greenhouse gas emissions to deal with global warming. Romney has stated that he believes climate change is happening, but that he does not know how much of it is caused by human activity. He favors increased domestic oil drilling, nuclear plant construction. He would seek to reduce the Environmental Protection Agency. He believes the U.S can find energy sources in our own country.

Political Views and World Politics In his 2010 book, No Apology: The Case for American Greatness, Romney writes of his belief in American exceptionalism.He said Russia is America's "number one geopolitical foe” and that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapons should be America's "highest national security priority.” He plans to stop trading with China because they have unfair trade practices. Some of his platforms or items which are important in his campaign: Creating more jobs. Lowering Taxes. Decreasing dependency on foreign oil. Making less restrictions for small businesses.
