Other Notes • Two main parts of a virus - capsid (contains genetic material) and tail • Lysogenic cycle produces more viruses than the lytic cycle • In the penetration stage of the lytic cycle, the virus can either continue with the lytic cycle or switch to the lysogenic cycle • In the induction stage of the lysogenic cycle, the virus goes back into the lytic cycle in order to exit the host cell
