  7. Take Away: Pre-deployment Site Survey Requires a new definition… Physical emplacement Enterprise emplacement (nodal construct) ISAF C4ISR demarcation lines Materiel developers must document ports, protocols and threads for their applications Necessary coordination elements Joint Network Operations Control Center – Afghanistan (JNCC-A) Regional Network Operations and Security Center (RNOSC) USFOR-A ISAF Organizational LNO’s

  8. Take Away: Content vs Context Diverse and disjoined ISAF C4ISR architecture exists: Much ISR content to be found Challenge is to discern what operations contextual information exists applicable to local area of responsibility Provides opportunity for collaborative/cooperative operations vice “federation of individual fights”

  9. Creating system views of C4ISR architecture in support of CENTCOM’ s move to CENTRIXS-ISAF. Selected PEO C3T and PEO IEW&S systems will migrate to CX-I Vetting CONOPS and architecture with CENTCOM CCJ2/CCJ6 Perception that ISAF Joint HQ will mandate that all major C4ISR systems operate on the “Mission Secret” network. NATO SECRET FW COP ONLY SIPR CSD LCRR-I CAN ISAF SECRET US SECRET FW RM US FMV CENTRIXS ISAF UK OVERTASK US FMV CAN FMV AUS FMV UK FMV CENTRIXS – ISAF (CX-I) (IOC 1 OCT 2009)

  10. Dissemination of ISR across coalition lines must be realized for mission success (Security Classification Guidelines for all systems must be revisited) Opportunities exist to integrate intelligence products to support real-time, actionable intelligence to the warfighter Impact of the combination of ISAF and USFOR-A into a single command Post (Oct 09) - Current C2 delineation causes challenges Expect Growing Pains ISR Planning and Tasking Take-Away: C4ISR Architecture
