  2. Plural nouns • Name more than one person, place, thing, idea, or animal

  3. Rules to make nouns plural • Add –s to make most singular nouns plural • Add –es to singular nouns which end in s, sh, ch, x, or z • If a singular noun ends in a CONSONANT + y, change the y to i and add es • If a singular noun ends in a VOWEL + y, just add an s

  5. Possessive nouns • Possessive nouns show different types of ownership. They may refer to something we possess, or they may refer to something that is part of us (ex. our bodies, our emotions)

  6. Rules for possessive nouns • To form the possessive of a SINGULAR NOUN: add ‘s Mydad’sshirt is in the wash. Did you know the school’s mascot is a bison?

  7. Rules for possessive nouns • To form the possessive of a PLURAL NOUN: -add s’ if the plural noun ends in s -add ‘s if the plural noun does not end in s Ourdads’shirts are in the wash. The children’s school mascot is a bison.
