  2. Affirmative Tú commands • To tell a friend of family member to do something, we use the tú command form (informal). • To give an affirmative (+) tú command form, we use the present tense 3rd person form (él/ella/usted) of the verb. • This rule also applies for stem changing verbs.

  3. Affirmative Tú commands • Walk to the gym! • Eat the ice cream! • Open the door! • Play soccer! • Return to class! • Ask for dessert! • ¡Camina al gimnasio! • ¡Come el helado! • ¡Abre la puerta! • ¡Juega al fútbol! • ¡Vuelve a clase! • ¡Pideel postre!

  4. Affirmative Túcommands – the irregulars • Come! • Say/tell! • Leave! • Do/make! • Have! • Go! • Put! • Be! • ¡ven! • ¡di! • ¡sal! • ¡haz! • ¡ten! • ¡ve! • ¡pon! • ¡sé! You may have heard the saying “Vin Diesel has ten weapons, eh!” To help you remember how these irregular tú command forms sound. However, they are spelled as above (in red)

  5. Affirmative tú commands with pronouns • When we have reflexive, direct, or indirect object pronouns included in a tú command, they are added to the end of the command. • When we do this, we sometimes need to add an accent mark to show that the stress of the command remains in the same place. • Example: • ¡Tomaesasvitaminas! = ¡Tómalas!
