Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an approach to self-care that can help manage stress, pain and illness. Meditation is used to learn to focus awareness on body sensations, thoughts and emotions in a nonjudgmental way.
MBSR has been offered for over 20 years at major medical centres around the world. This 8 week program will help you cultivate present moment awareness, promoting health and wellbeing in your practice as a health care professional.
You will learn:
Methods to reduce stress and pain
How to increase energy and concentration
How to relax and be at ease
Practical skills to calm the mind and think clearly
The course includes guided instruction in different mindfulness meditation practices, gentle yoga exercises, group dialogue and discussions.
INFORMATION SESSION FOR PARTICIPANTS WILL BE HELD ON March 6th 2013 in Room 246 Nurses Residence at 6:30 PM *Cost of the program will be $100.00
