  1. What is an eCube? • A Product Invented and made in the UK to: • Save energy by as much as 30% • Increase the life of equipment • Increase the safety of food storage • Save CO2 emissions and reduce carbon footprint

  2. It sits over the thermostat  censor on commercial refrigeration units. Microlistine wax within the ecube mimics food and encases the thermostat censor preventing fluctuating air temperatures from controlling the unit. The ecube turns the refrigeration unit on and off as the product temperature demands it. Because air no longer causes so many random starts, longer on / off cycles lead to considerable energy savings. How does an eCube Work ?

  3. How it works Prior to an eCube being fitted, a refrigeration unit is controlled by fluctuating air temperatures which cause regular and random on/off cycles. After fitting an eCube, the on/off cycles become longer and more even which reduces starts by around 75%.

  4. Key Benefits Energy Savings • Trial results show that fitting an eCube typically reduces a refrigeration units energy consumption by 15-20% but in some cases it can exceed 30%. • This benefit comes from the longer on/off cycles ie less starts and stops. • This will reduce energy bills significantly.

  5. Key Benefits The Environment • As previously mentioned, fitting an eCube will reduce energy consumption from a refrigeration unit by 15-20% on average. • This will lead to a similar saving in CO2 emissions which in the current environmental climate is significant.

  6. Key Benefits Extended Equipment Life • The less starts and stops caused by the eCube will extend the lifespan of a refrigeration unit, especially the thermostat and compressor. • This will lead to fewer plant failures, less engineering call out charges and reduce expenditure on replacement parts.

  7. Energy Saving

  8. Food Safety To whom it may concern We have carried out a trial with eCube in one of our customer sites, Roadchef services Northampton – North/southbound. Backed up by our high quality technical service and support with a high regard for the environment we carefully monitored the refrigeration equipment and food temperatures. The eCube allows the refrigeration equipment to manage the temperature of the food product rather than the fluctuating air temperature. The concluded results and benefits are as follows: • Temperature of the monitored equipment was kept stable resulting in less frequent refrigeration cycles. • More efficient use of the refrigeration equipment, less wear and tear thus energy efficient. • It has been proved that the refrigeration cycles have been reduced whilst still keeping the food temperature constant within its legislative limits. • It has been proved that within a busy environment, doors left open for short periods or constantly in and out the cabinets the eCube keeps the temperature stable  as it only monitors the product temperature and not the fluctuating air temperature therefore unnecessary refrigeration cycles. I can see the benefit of the eCube for the more efficient use of the refrigeration equipment, safer food and energy savings solutions to the food manufacturing and storage industry. Everyone at eCube have been considerately helpful, I have no hesitation to recommend this product to others. Kind regards, Vince Presti (Capital Cooling) Central Regional Manager Capital Cooling Ltd

  9. Extract from Bristol University Report Results • Fitting the e-cube to the cabinet had minimal effects on temperatures of test packs. In the tests the temperature of test packs rose by up to 0.3°C when the e-cube was fitted but the cabinet still operated within the M1 specification. • The major influence of fitting the e-cube was in reducing the energy consumed by the cabinet by 13% in both the door closed and door opening tests. Assuming usage similar to the door openings test regime the e-cube would save 180 kWh/year. • The number of compressor starts per hour was also reduced from 8.9/h with the door closed and 8.5/h with the door opened without the e-cube to 3.1/h with the e-cube fitted.
