  1. Created a map of the opening level of a potential game idea, Depths, which starts the player at the bottom of a dungeon with the goal of working their way up. • The player starts in the lowermost section and must find a set of stairs leading up, which in this instance are visible but inaccessible without two keys. • Visually I’ve gone for something with a number of edges and sharp turns, particularly in darker areas, to give it a more claustrophobic and aggressive feel. • There’s a dark area directly in front of the entrance to ensure players pick up the torch, and the knife is required for the door.

  2. Lengthened the initial hallway to create a somewhat more tense atmosphere and further emphasise the need for the torch, and lengthened one of the hallways in which a key is kept

  3. Added detail for the contents of the level, such as where the character spawns and where they need to go, as well as a key explaining what each object is.
