(Heb. 12:1-3) • Joshua’s talk was a reminder not a revelation of the Promises of God – the Word of God – and to trust and obey. (Deut. 31:1-8 and Joshua 1:1-9) • Joshua’s God was bigger than Israel; He was the God of all the earth! (2 Chronicles 20:20 and 1 Kings 8:56)

Used in the Exodus account with emphasis on departure (Red Sea) abar-cross over or pass over: this verb connotes tremendous epic significance. Used in this account with emphasis on arrival (Jordan River)
