All Vital Information You Must Know about NEET 2023 Application and Registration NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national-level medical entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency. This test is designed for students who are looking to seek admission to medical courses in government-recognized and approved medical colleges and institutes across the country. NEET is a common and uniform medical entrance test conducted for UG medical courses across all medical institutes. Every year lakhs of students appear for this highly competitive examination in pursuit of an excellent career in the medical field. Students, who are looking to appear in NEET in the year 2023 or 2024, need to start their preparation early with a perfect study plan to increase their chance of success in the exam. Vital Information Pertaining NEET NEET is an all-India pre-medical test conducted for young medical aspirants who wish to pursue medicine as a career. Students seeking admission to undergraduate medical programmes both in the country and even abroad undertake this test. This exam is conducted once a year by the National Testing Agency. Students qualifying for this exam avail a seat in any of the medical programmes like MBBS, BDS, nursing, and various AYUSH courses offered in the government as well as private institutes of India according to the marks obtained on the test. With the coming up of the “One nation One test” policy, all the state entrance tests including AIIMS and JIPMER tests have been scrapped and only NEET is taking place.

Latest Information Regarding NEET 2023 Based on the recommendation of the Union Health Ministry, the Medical Council of India has made a few vital changes in the NEET that should be known to all the NEET aspirants: The states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have now joined the 15% All India Quota scheme Indian candidates who wish to pursue medicine abroad will also have to quality NEET UG exam There are no restrictions on the number of attempts at NEET, though students have to fulfil age criteria as per their corresponding categories to appear the exam. NEET UG exam is conducted across 497 Indian cities as well as 14 abroad locations NEET exam will be of 200 minutes i.e. 3 hours 20 minutes duration NEET examination fee has been revised Female candidates who want to pursue nursing programmes at AFMS institutes can get admission based on their NEET scores. How to Register for NEET 2023 All the NEET aspirants must visit the NEET official website to check when the application form is available and to proceed with the registration process. Students are supposed to fill the application form only through the online mode by clicking on the “apply online” button, as after this they will be directed to fill the application form. Students first need to visit the NEET official website Start the registration process by providing their basic information like name, mobile number, and email id, along with other details Duly fill the NEET registration form with basic personal details like name, date of birth, category, nationality, qualification details like passing year, percentage of marks scored, contact details, and choice of exam centre. Students are required to upload scanned copies of the documents in the prescribed size and format. Pay the application fee through online or offline mode The confirmation page is displayed at the end and students must take the printout of the duly filled application form for future reference. Students will need to provide a valid ID proof to fill the application form After the application process is complete students will get a provisional application number on their registered email id and phone number.

List of Documents Required Students while submitting the NEET application form will need the following documents: Most recent passport and postcard size photograph Signature and thumb impression of the candidate Class X mark sheet Valid ID proof NEET Revised Examination Fee The application fee for NEET depends upon the student’s category. Application fee for the general category students is Rs. 1600, for general EWS as well as for OBC-NCL is Rs. 1500, for SC/ST/PwBD/the third gender is 900, and for outside India students is Rs. 8500. The payment of the application fee can be made through the online mode. Fees can be paid online through credit/debit/net banking/Paytm. NEET Eligibility Criteria To apply and appear for the NEET, students are required to fulfil the following eligibility criteria: Qualification Criteria Candidates must have successfully passed class 12 or an equivalent exam, though students who will be appearing for the class 12 exams are also eligible Students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as their major subjects

  4. Candidates of the unreserved and General-EWS category must have obtained 50% marks in the qualifying examinations whereas students of the SC/ST/PWBD category must have obtained 40% marks in the qualifying examinations Nationality NEET aspirants should be an Indian citizens If not Indian, candidates should be an Overseas citizens of India or Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) Foreign Nationals Students of J&K state are eligible for NEET under the All India 15% quota. Such students can also seek admission to AFMC, Pune Indian or OCI students who wish to pursue medical courses in a foreign college will need to qualify for NEET Age Criteria Candidates must have either completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete before 31st December of the year in which they are taking admission. ID Proof Students need valid ID proof to appear for NEET, though an Aadhar card is no more mandatory for the NEET. Students hailing from the state like J&K, Assam, and Meghalaya need to provide ration card numbers, passport numbers, bank account numbers, or any valid ID number while NRI, OCI, PIO, and other foreign nationals can provide their passport numbers for the same. Peek-a-Boo in the NEET Exam Pattern NEET is a pen-paper-based objective type test comprising a total of 200 MCQ questions in which students have to attempt a total of 180 questions. NEET exam comprises questions from subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. All the four subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology comprises of section A and B. Section A of all the four subjects contain 35 questions, and attempting all these questions is compulsory, while Section B of all the four subjects contains 15 questions out of which students are required to attempt only 10 questions. Students are awarded 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. The exam is of a total of 720 marks. The NEET question paper is asked in 13 different languages such as English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Punjabi.
