Monday, February 26, 2018 Standard: 8.E.4B.4 Develop and use models to explain how motions within the Sun-Earth-Moon system cause Earth phenomena (including day and year, moon phases, solar and lunar eclipses, and tides). Objective: SWBAT illustrate and compare/contrast lunar and solar eclipses; and spring and neap tides.   8. Monday, February 26, 2017 Eclipses and Tides 4 Corner Illustrations: In the Blue Textbooks, use pages 294-296 to help you label and order the Earth-Moon-Sun in the illustrations for eclipses. Use pages 331-332 to label and order the Earth-Moon-Sun for the tides illustrations. In the FOSS Planetary Books, use pages 27-29 How does the phases of the Moon relate to tides and eclipses. Write this in the 4 Corners illustrations. What is the driving force behind the tides? Label high and low tides. If you do not finish this in class, you will need to use Discovery Education to complete this for homework.

  10. Moon Phases Lab 3rd and 4th 18 points possible from the photo and line up of your oreos. 2x phases and 2 for labeling Earth and Sun 14 points possible from the handout. Putting phases in correct order, answer questions correctly, and WRITING IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. You may make corrections to the lab, both the photo and the handout. You will need to write this on a SEPERATE SHEET OF PAPER AND TURN IN WITH THE ORIGINAL by Wednesday, February 28- No exceptions or extensions. I will have a make work bin on my desk for you to return the work in on Wednesday, February 28
