  2. Originally inspired by London 2012, 21st Century Legacy is a National Charity engaging over 110,000 young people in Primary and Secondary Schools across the UK on the Be the Best you can Be! Programme – created by Olympic Champion, Dr David Hemery CBE (Mexico 1968, 400m hurdles) • Inspiration can last a lifetime when that inspiration is translated into action • Inspires, engages and empowers pupils and staff to pursue and fulfil their dreams in any area of life

Will raise the aspirations and increase the self-confidence of your young people - validated by Bath University • Enables your School and Teachers to progress from ‘Good’ to Outstanding’ in the new Ofsted Inspection Framework • Increases the qualities of High Achievers in pupils and staff: self-awareness and self-responsibility • Is flexible, can start any term, any time; your choice - for the whole School, one or more year groups, or a combination

  7. Engage - Programme Themes The themes are designed to enable every child to achieve and succeed through generating the qualities of High Achievers: Self-Awareness and Self-Responsibility

  8. Empower– through Coaching / FacilitationTeachers challenging pupils to be self-responsible An experienced 21st Century Legacy Coach leads a day orhalf day Staff Development Workshop and every attendee receives a Workbook to support their professional development.

Develop All of Your Staff Ideal Coaching = Asking + traditional Telling to generate Awareness and Responsibility The Staff Development Workshop improved my Ofsted assessment from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’ Colin Lancaster – Teacher, Bishop’s Castle. All are welcome – up to 100 – to enhance their facilitation skills, not ‘how to run the Programme’

What is the cost of the Programme?Many Schools have used their Pupil Premium From £500 - £1,500 per School Savings are possible from Schools Sharing: • The Staff Development Workshop or • Sharing one Programme • Plus £2 per Primary Pupil: • Royal Mint Medallion • Official Certificate from ASDAN • GROW card and Development Profile • Plus £5 per Secondary Student: • Student Workbook • Royal Mint Medallion • Official Certificate from ASDAN • GROW card and Development Profile

YES, You can use the Primary Sport Funding towards the CPD part of the Programme All schools with 17 or more primary-aged pupils will receive a lump sum of £8,000 plus a premium of £5 per pupil. Smaller schools will receive £500 per pupil. For 2013/14 and 2014/15 the sport funding will be included in the additional grant for schools (AGS) 2013-14 and 2014-15. AGS is distributed to local authorities in late September or early October each year. Shared Staff Development Workshop

Since September 2011 over 112,000 young people have engaged in the Programme in Schools across the UK Secondary • 2009 Pilots and validation by Bath University • A framework - developed to integrate with Every Child Matters, National Curriculum, Learning to Learn, PLTS • Over Two Terms - can start in any term, 25 hours integrated Primary • 2011 Pilot and national roll-out from January 2012 • A framework- integrates with SEAL and Every Child Matters • Over One Term or more - can start in any term at any time • e.g. theme days or subject areas – flexible, you choose
