  3. Private Victory 1 – Be Proactive 2 – Begin with the End in Mind 3- Put First Things First These all deal with changing how you are on the inside, and your personal habits

  4. Public Victory 4 – Think Win-Win 5 – Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood 6 – Synergize These all deal with how you interact with others (ie: public life!)

  5. Habit 7? • So what is sharpen the saw about? • Imagine you are walking in the forest. You see someone furiously cutting down a tree with a saw. • You ask him how long he has been at it. He says 4 hours, but that he is really making progress • You notice that his saw looks dull, you suggest he take a break and sharpen it. • He says “I cant, I’m too busy sawing”.

  6. Habit 7 • The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shinning. (JFK) • How is this similar to the cutting down the tree story? • Just like anything in life, we need to practice and fine tune things – we need to sharpen our “saws”!

  7. The 4 Dimensions There are 4 dimensions that we must from time to time tune up and work on. The Body The Brain The Heart The Soul Once you have your ideas, put them on the board, then copy all of them into your notes! Get in groups of 2 or 3, and pick one. Brainstorm what skills we need to maintain and how we can do this! We will do the soul as a class!
