  1. TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES TO FIX THE TURNTABLE REPAIR www.speakerhospital.com.au

  2. TEST THE CARTRIDGE If all other parts are in working order, you need to check the cartridge to see if it works. A cartridge can malfunction once in a while. This happens when all connections are correct and the needle functions normally, but no signal comes from the cartridge. When purchasing additional parts, you should take note of the cartridge and record player's model and manufacturer.

  3. CHECK IF YOU NEED A NEW BELT If you turn on the record player, but the turntable does not spin, that is the best sign that the belt needs to be replaced. Your belt can be broken even if it does spin. The lower pitch of your records indicates that the belt should be replaced. The speed changes faster or slower as soon as the needle touches the record. When the turntable is still spinning, it can be difficult to determine if you have a damaged belt. You might not be able to detect a problem if it deviates only a little from its regular speed. Buying a strobe disc is the most effective approach to ensure your safety.

  4. CLEANING THE STYLUS After each playing session, the stylus needs to be cleaned. You can still use a paintbrush but it must have extremely soft bristles. Specialized stylus brushes are available for this so that you can get that. The most essential thing you need to remember is that you should never wipe from front to back. Never clean it from side to side since the needle may get damaged. The simplest and most suggested way to clean the stylus is using space-age polymer bubble cleaner, even though it can be slightly more expensive than the brush.
