Water heaters are known to explode, if not maintained properly, causing a wake of damage in its path. Get annual tune up for water heater– You can hire a professional plumber to inspect your gas leak and make sure its safety mechanisms are working properly. Leave repairs & installations to professionals – You might want to save a few bucks by installing or repairing your water heater yourself. However improper installation measures can cause many other costlier problems. It is always suggested to hire a trusted professional. Inspect your T&P valve– Tank style water heaters come with a T&P (temperature and pressure) valve that releases excessive pressure to keep your water heater from exploding.
