  1. When Is The Best Time For Landscaping in Auckland?

  2. March is considered as the start of lawn and landscaping season in Auckland. Whether you are planning to grow new plants or improve your old lawn, autumn is the best time to do it. Wondering why is this so? Here are some reasons why early fall is the best time for landscaping.

  3. The exterior part of your home is the first thing that your guests will see when they come to visit you. That is why you should always see to it that your front yard is looking great. And one way of enhancing the appearance of your yard is to landscape it. But the question is, when is the best time to do your landscaping project?

  4. Spring season is often associated with new growth and seeds. But no, it is not the perfect time for you to plant grass in Auckland. The best months for landscaping are from March to May when Auckland is enjoying the autumn or fall season. Here are a few reasons why...

  5. Plants Need Less Watering • When your plants need less watering, they would also need less maintenance. Unlike planting in summer or spring, you do not need to water your plants every now and then especially during the first few days or weeks to make sure that they do not dry out.

  6. When you plant in autumn, you just need to water the perennial plants and allow them to soak for a few hours to absorb as much water as they need. You will then need to plant them in the ground and let them stay there forever. If you want to plant trees and shrubs, you would need to completely water the soil for them to have nice roots. During fall when the temperature is cooler and the presence of heavier dew is around, the leaves do not demand too much water from the roots.

  7. Spotting of Gaps Made Easier • The best time for you to see and spot the areas in your yard that need improvement is during fall. Perhaps you need to grow more grass on different areas of your yard or perhaps plant more perennial plants in an open spot.

  8. Cooler Weather is an Advantage • Fall is cooler than summer but is not as chilly as winter. The cooler temperature provides benefits both to you and to the plants. You need not endure the scorching sun. You will not sweat that much while planting or doing your landscaping project plus the soil is pretty much workable for hours.

  9. When is the Best Time to Now? • You need to see to it that your newly planted grasses are already well established before the cold months arrive. It would be best to plant them as early as March when the ground is still a little bit warm and when there is still enough amount of sunlight. Let your new grass flourish first and reach at least 3 inches high before you start mowing. If you seed in the autumn, the earliest time to mow would be the next spring.
