  1. Why Elderly People Should Use Smart Watches? With the arrival of the 21st century, a new era of technology has arrived where the need of compact devices got increased in many folds. Once, a phone was used only for telephonic conversations yet now, the smart phone actually handles various aspects of our lives including banking, conversations, listening to music, GPS, or even watching movies. In the same way, another device was also getting more and more compact as years were getting by.... And that device is.... Watch. Today, the smart watches not only tell time but they can do may other significant tasks that were regarded very complex just a few years ago.

  2. Since 1972, the birth of first digital watch “pulsar”, the smart watch has come a long way and many big guns have arrived into the industry including Apple. Since, watches are somewhat we wear in day to day life, it did make more sense to make it compact thus multiplying its functionality. With the added features and compact in nature, it is natural that smart watches gained more popularity in young generation while the elders felt it was more complicated or simply, sticking to the traditional idea about watches should only tell time and we have different gadgets for other aspects. But recently, the manufacturers are trying to change that trend and thus inclusion of elderly demographic also taking priority. A smart watch isn't only relevant for young tech savvy people but in case of elders also, it can enhance their life style unknowingly.

  3. E.g. most smart watches these days carry the GPS functionality. Hence, elderly people, who are suffering from amnesia, even if they get lost in some places, the family members can simply track the watch and find the person with a simple application. This technique has been implemented in smart phones from long ago yet, with the advent of smart watches, in case of elderly people, it is providing crucial features that were never thought before.

  4. But does it end here? Certainly not - many elderly people forget to take medicine in time or simply they forget to even take the medicine unless some other person is supervising. A smart watch like SOS watches can be programmed to give notifications/alarms to take which medicine to take when and accordingly, that person can accomplish that without the requirement of any kind of remembering. This certainly holds an importance on our day to day life as, not only elderly people but in our busy schedule, even the people without any amnesia issues tend to forget things amidst personal and professional life. Technology was always there to ease the lives of people. But now, smart watches bringing that to another level.
