  11. Task 1 • Design a IUW based on the theme of water… • Try to integrate English, Maths, Environmental Studies and Art.

  12. Water • Maths • Measuring liquids- eg measuring rainwater in plastic bottle. • Volume/ capacity – converting units of measurement. • Add and subtract measurements. • Problem solving involving measurements. • Data- graph of rainfall over a week.

  13. English • Vocab- wet, drip, dripping, damp, soaking, drenched. • Water acrostic poem. • Creative writing- eg Suddenly the rain began to pour • Tsunami- read article- write report. • Design poster- to conserve poster

Science • Sources of water • Our rivers/sea- India • The water cycle • Experiment- the rate of evaporation- draw around puddle with chalk and measure at another time. • Water fit for drinking • Uses of water- travel, washing, cooking • Dangers of water/ water safety. • Flooding- consequences of flooding. • Floating and sinking. • Predicting and testing whether items float and sink. • Design and make a boat that will float.
