  2. Caution ※ I couldn’t find many information about oxygen converter. ※ So this presentation is real 40%, my thinking 60%. ※ Don’t trust absolutely this contents.

  3. 1. What is the oxygen converter? Oxygen converter ? By blowing pure oxygen gas Oxygen converter changepig iron to steel. When blowing oxygen gas, The carbon, Impurities are removed by oxidation.

  4. 2. Material Oxygen converter ◎ External Steel- external maintenance. ◎ Internal part Ceramic – endure high temperature. Melting temperature : Ceramic>Steel (Refractory– high temperature material.)

  5. 3. External Design • Appearance • Capacity

  6. 4. External Process Sand casting is a metal casting process. By using sand as the mold material.

  7. 5. Internal Part- Refractory ◎ Refractory Refractory is high temperature material. Not deformed at the melting temperature of steel. Generally melting temperature of refractory is more than 1,580℃.

  8. 6. Refractory manufacturing. 1. Crushing → Crushing can make raw materials easier to shape. 2. Mixing 3. shaping Ground raw material is weighed and mixed. The mixture is poured into a mold to form shapes, and the pressure is high.

  9. 6. Refractory manufacturing. 4. Drying Water is removed from the shaped bricks. This helps preventing the bricks from deforming or cracking 5. Firing 6. Packing/Shipping The modeled bricks are fired at high temperature to complete their thermochemical reaction. This is the most important process. http://www.chosunref.co.kr/home/eng/product/process.asp
