Chapter 12 ~Lesson 4 Council of Trent (1545 – 1563) • Focused on confronting the need for reform within the Church & disproving Protestant beliefs • Affirmed that humanity is not essentially evil • Affirmed there are 7 sacraments & upheld the truth of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist • Affirmed the belief that people need the Church to guide them in their efforts to live a Christian life
