  • One: Imagine what hell is like.

    • Hell is a place of great torment.

      • “Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame” (Lk 16:24).

    • Hell is an eternal place.

      • “The smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name” (Rev 14:11).

    • Hell is a place of horrible worms.

      • Mk 9:43-44.

    • Hell is a horrible place.

      • Matt 22:13.

  • Two: Examine yourself.

    • Self-examination should be a key component of our Christian lives.

      • “Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup” (1 Cor 11:28).

      • “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves” (2 Cor13:5).

    • Test yourself this week.

      • Are you truly ready to stand before the Lord in judgment?
