  2. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 1: No Passing Zone Vehicle 1 crosses a double yellow line passing vehicles 2 and 3, in the lane of oncoming vehicle 4. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.0875 (No passing zone).

  3. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 2: Failure to Obey Stop Sign Vehicle 1 fails to stop at a stop sign and enters the intersection into the path of oncoming vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 takes evasive action to avoid a collision with vehicle 1. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.123(2)(a) (Vehicle entering stop or yield intersection).

  4. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 3: Avoidance of Traffic Control Device Vehicle 1 cuts through a parking lot to avoid the traffic light. Vehicle 1 did not stop in the parking lot for any reason. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.074(2) (Obedience to a required traffic control device).

  5. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 4: Failure to Yield Right-of-Way at Intersection with Inoperable Traffic Light The traffic signal is out due to a power failure. Vehicles 1 and 2 continue through the intersection without stopping. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.1235 (Vehicle approaching intersection in which traffic light is inoperative).

  6. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 5: Careless Driving Vehicle 1 enters a curve at a high rate of speed, fails to negotiate the curve, and slides off the roadway. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.1925 (Careless Driving) or 316.185 (Special Hazards Violation).

  7. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 6: Backing up on Limited Access Roadway Vehicle 1 misses the exit on an interstate and then backs up to reach it. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.1985(2) (Limitations on backing).

  8. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 7: Avoiding Barriers at Railroad Crossing Vehicle 1 approaches the activated railroad crossing. Because no train is in sight, vehicle 1 drives around the activated railroad crossing. This is a violation of Florida Statute §316.1575(2) (Obedience to traffic control devices at railroad-highway grade crossing).

  9. Traffic Violation Examples Traffic Situation 8: Left Turn from Outside Lane Vehicle 1 turns left from the outside lane. Even though this affects no other traffic, this is a violation of Florida Statute §316.151(1)(b) (Required positions and method of turning at intersections).
