  2. Writingsamples An introduction I learned the art of storytelling while a writer and copy editor for newspapers and a Web site. When the shrinking newspaper industry resulted in layoffs, myself included, I transferred my storytelling ability from the written world to the visual one. On these pages, you’ll see examples of projects I completed in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I hope you enjoy the stories they tell.

  3. Photoshop projects My work includes collages, book covers and photo restoration. I created these images with Photoshop CS4.

  4. restoration In this photo-restoration project, I repaired the damaged image on the left and then added color. The finished look is on the right. The work took second place in the photo restoration category at the 2010 San Diego County Fair.

  5. collages I created two versions of a photo collage featuring my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Willow. She’s so cute that it’s hard to resist what she wants!

  6. Book covers For a school project, each student was given a phrase. Mine was “modern gifts.” I built a murder mystery involving a bride on her wedding night and some very desired gifts.

  7. Illustrator projects Using Illustrator CS4, I created two versions of a poster for a nonprofit, two examples of an iPod ad, personal and company logos, and traced an artwork.

  12. InDesign projects InDesign is a great tool for creating advertisements, stationery and newsletters. Here are samples of ads and stationery.
