  8. The film starts with a detective at his desk, he recounts the events of the story in flashback. A Lord and Lady can’t have a child, the Lady sees a frog telling her she will have a child, when the child is born, they name it Rosamond and the Lord throws a party where thirteen maidens bring gifts for the child. The thirteenth maiden says that when the child is fifteen, she will touch a spindle and die. The Lord burns all spindles in the village but the 13th maiden keeps a spindle hidden. When Rosamond is 15, her parents are away, she leaves the manor, goes into the village and enters a small hut. She sees the 13th maiden with a spindle, touches the spindle and faints. She is then drugged and locked in a room, an Inspector rescues her and is then promoted to a Detective, he marries her and then he is shown back at his desk. Story outline
