  2. integer • one of the positive or negative numbers 1 2, 3, etc., or zero

  3. rational number a number that can be expressed exactly by a ratio of two integers.

  4. scientific notation • scientific notation • order or system in doing anything: to work with method

  5. perfect square • a rational number that is equal to the square of another rational number

  6. irrational number • a number that cannot be exactly expressed as a ratio of two integers.

  7. real numbers • a rational number or the limit of a sequence of rational numbers, as opposed to a complex number.

  8. Density Property • is defined as the degree of compactness of a substance

  9. Adjacent angles • two angles having the same vertex and having a common side between them.

  10. Coefficient • a number that is constant for a given substance, body, or process under certain specified conditions, serving as a measure of one of its properties:

  11. Distance Formula • The formula, which is used to find the distance between two points

  12. Domain • The set of values of the independent variable for which a function is defined.

  13. Hypotenuse • The longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle

  14. Legs of a right Triangle • The sides adjacent to the right angle

  15. range • The range of a set numbers is the highest number minus the lowest number.

  16. slope • The rise over the run

  17. Prism • a polyhedron with two polygonal faces lying in parallel planes and with the other faces parallelogams

  18. Scatter plot • a graphic representation of bivariate data as a set of points in the plane that have Cartesian coordinates equal to corresponding values of the two variates.

  19. Slope intercept form • the equation of a straight line in the form y = mx + b where m is the slope of the line and b is its y-intercept
