  2. Certified Patient Account Manager (CPAM)Certified Clinic Account Manager (CCAM) • Keystone AAHAM in conjunction with AAHAM has offered the professional exams for 35 years. These exams set the standard of excellence in patient accounting and patient financial services. • Did you know that these exams are comparable to earning a CPA or passing the bar exam? • The CPAM exam is for those working in a hospital setting and the CCAM exam for those working in a clinic or physician setting. • Did you know that one third of Keystone's members hold one of the designations? • Do you know how many of Keystone's members hold Dual Certification designations?

  3. About the Exams… • Both exams are available to AAHAM National members twice each year. The exams are held the last week in April and the last week in September and is now available online. • The CPAM exam is comprised of the following sections: • Patient Access • Billing • Credit/Collections • Revenue Cycle (A/R) Management • The CCAM exam is comprised of the following sections: • Patient Access • Billing • Credit/Collections • Revenue Cycle (A/R) Management • Each exam contains True/False questions, Multiple Choice questions, Essay questions and calculations.

About the Exams… • March 1, 2010 is the deadline to register for the April CPAM/CCAM exam • August 2, 2010 is the deadline to register for the September CPAM/CCAM exam • CPAM/CCAM Registration Fees • The full exam fee for either the CPAM or CCAM exam is $200 • There is a $50 fee for each section retake • When Keystone members achieve either professional designation they receive a check for $250 • Dual Certification Option (DCAM)

Eligibility & Recertification • AAHAM National members, in good standing who have: • a minimum of either four years of healthcare experience: or • two years of healthcare experience and a two year college or university associates degree. • Recertification Requirements • must be a National member of AAHAM in good standing by January 31st of each year. • must earn forty (40) hours of continuing educational units (CEU's) within the two calendar years following certification. • 20 CEU's must be from attending AAHAM sponsored/related educational programs. • 20 CEU’s can be acquired by attending other educational sessions related to the patient financial services area.

Keystone Mentor Program: We’re Here to Help You Get Certified • Individuals sitting for the CPAM or CCAM exam can have a "Mentor" assigned to them • Mentors are members of Keystone that currently hold a professional certification. • Our goal: provide each member as much assistance as need to prepare for CPAM and/or CCAM…and pass with flying colors!
