  1. INTRO TO COMPIX & SWITCHER • WEEK FOUR | TUESDAY, JUNE 24th

  2. RECAP • Four Stages of Production? • Five C’s in Production? • Name one camera angle! • In studio, position your cameras, zoom in and focus. • Tilt lever to adjust vertical movement, while pan lever is to adjust horizontal movement. • Review lingo. Por favor.

  3. COMPIX GRAPHICS! • During production, this could get confusing and frustrating, but once you get the hang of it, it’s fairly simple! • There are templates ready for your use if you wish to use them. • Steps on your manual. We will go in the control room together to train hands-on.

  4. HEY SWITCH! • A switcher is defined to be a device that controls the cameras from the studio; selecting which particular camera a director wishes to record. • It can also switch on graphics, and select which transitions to use during production. • So many buttons! But don’t worry, we’ll teach you just what you need to know :)

  5. HOMEWORK! • So far, you’ve learned the basic knowledge of what you need to know about video production. DUE NEXT CLASS:Write up a one page journal entry, or less, about how YOU think production decisions, such as sound effects, camera shots and graphics affect the program’s message? What do you hope to get out of this class after the session is finished? And have you faced any trouble experiencing what you have learned or anything relating to your final project?

  6. THE FUN PART! • Let’s head into the control room and practice using the COMPIX graphics. And then we can switch these using the switcher.
