  1. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 1 TIM. 4:12 [By Ron Halbrook]

  2. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH Introduction 1. 1 Tim. 4:12 Focus on days of youth, but principles apply to all men 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

  3. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 2. Not glorify youth: • Warped outlook • Some roles for mature years

  4. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 3. Only one chance to give God the strength of youth! • Job 14:1-2 Few days 1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. 2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

  5. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 3. Only one chance to give God the strength of youth! • Ps. 90:1-10 Few days

  6. 1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. • Ps. 90:1-10 Few days

  7. 3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. 4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. 5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. 6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. 7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. 8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. • Ps. 90:1-10 Few days

  8. 9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. • Ps. 90:1-10 Few days

  9. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 3. Only one chance to give God the strength of youth! • Eccl. 11:9-12:1 Remember God now

  10. 9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity. • Eccl. 11:9-12:1 Remember God now

  11. 1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; • Eccl. 11:9-12:1 Remember God now

  12. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 3. Only one chance to give God the strength of youth! • Eccl. 12:2-7 Body declines, dies

  13. 2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: 3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened, 4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low; • Eccl. 12:2-7 Body declines, dies

  14. 5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: 6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. 7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. • Eccl. 12:2-7 Body declines, dies

  15. GIVING GODTHE STRENGTH OF YOUTH 3. Only one chance to give God the strength of youth! • Eccl. 12:13-14 Fulfill life’s purpose 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
