  1. Vera Wang Vera Wang – former figure-skater – is a famous fashion designer from New York best known for her wedding dress designs. She is of Chinese descent, born and raised in New York City; has a degree in art history. Throughout her teen years she was into figure-skating. In 1971 Vera began working for Vogue. She was soon promoted to senior fashion editor and worked in this capacity for about fifteen years. She then joined Ralph Lauren as design director for accessories. Selecting a wedding dress turned out to be a very difficult task. The frustration pointed to a niche. This is when Vera decided to design her own wedding gown. After all, if you want something done
