بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. This is the exam of the second batch of the year 2006 The exam was somewhat easy ;) Kanski is a real waste of time. If u walk through ALL what I wrote in “read me file” I can guaranty that u will have no problem in answering 80-90% of the questions. Q1.

  2. This is the exam of the second batch of the year 2006 • The exam was somewhat easy ;) • Kanski is a real waste of time. • If u walk through ALL what I wrote in “read me file” I can guaranty that u will have no problem in answering 80-90% of the questions.

  3. Q1 • This young guy came to the ER with a hx of trauma by a fist, what is ur dx? • 4th nerve paralysis in the R.eye • 4th nerve paralysis in the L.eye • Blow out fracture in the R.eye • 3rd nerve palsy in the R.eye The same exact pic. 

  4. Q2 • A worker came to the ER with this eye, the most likely dx is? • Cataract • Foreign body • Nevus • Blod clut The magical word “worker” The same exact pic. 

  5. Q3 • This condition is most likely associated with? • DM • HTN • Marfan • SLE The same exact pic. 

  6. Q4 • According to this condition, which is correct? • This lesion is in the bulbar conj. • Rx is AB • Caused by staph.aures • Redness, pain, photophobia are ass. Symp. It was this exact pic. It was taken from KANSKI p.22 but the quality of the pic in the exam was so bad that most of us had a problem in answering this Q, hopefully this wont happen 2 u BTW this is a gaint papilae (VKC)

Q5 • According 2 this condition, what is the right answer? • This is a geographic ulcer • Rx is AB • It could be recurrent • U need 2 patch the eye Some students picked the first choice which is wrong, cuz geographic ulcer although it has the same appearance but it’s much bigger This is a good pic and the pic we had in the exam was even BETTER 

Q7 • According 2 this condition, all true EXCEPT : • The light reflex is central • The L. eye is deviated inward • He has a prominent canthal fold • He will be okay when he grows up Not the same pic but a very close one This is a psuedostrabismus, so the light reflex is always central and there is no deviation in the eyes as in the true strabismus

  10. Q8 • This child has? • Esophoria • Accommodative esotropia • Cover un cover test will be normal • Non commitant esotropia The same exact pic. 

  11. Q9 • This ptn is? • Apkaia • Myope • Spherophakia • Psuedophakia They gave us a pic of an old man wearing a huge glasses (a really thick one) I didn’t find it in KANKSKI or in the other exams, I even searched in the internet but I couldn’t find any thing  sorry

  12. Q10 • According 2 this condition? • This is a non-proliferative DRP • This is central retinal artery occlusion • This is central retinal vein occlusion • Refer 2 ophthalmologist immediately This is a clear proliferative DRP. Mind the new vascularisation

  13. Q11 • All true EXCEPT • This is a rhegmatogenous retinal detachment • Can be caused by a trauma • U don’t have 2 treat because the macula is intact • Ass. with lattice degeneration The same exact pic. 

  17. Q15 • This ptn is a 50 ys old in a regular check up, u have to examine all ex: •Refraction. •gonioscopy. •tonometry. •flurocene angiogram The same exact pic.  Surely u can appreciate the optic disc cupping which indicate glucoma

  19. Q17 • According 2 this condition, all true EXCEPT • Ass. with itching • Rx by cold compresses • Rx is AB • … I can’t recall it • It is very clear cuz we always use WARM compresses The same exact pic. 

  20. Q18 • According 2 this condition, all true EXCEPT • He is having esotropia in the right eye • Can be corrected by glasses • Surgery can be done after amblyopis is corrected • Usually associated with myopia The same exact pic.  Esotropia is usually ass with hypermetropia
