  3. What is the difference between Acute pain and Chronic pain? • Acute pain usually occurs suddenly and in sharp quality, covering a certain area of the body.  • It gives the body a warning signal that an underlying disease or illness is manifesting. It can be an outcome of certain procedures or circumstances like injuries, burns, cuts, surgery or labor pains during childbirth process. • This type of pain usually last no longer than 3-6 months and will disappear gradually once treated, but if the pain continue for more than six months duration then its fall under Chronic Pain.

  4. Chronic Pain usually resulted if the pain felt despite of being treated • It can affect the person physically and emotionally, physically like limitation to the body’s range of motion and mobility, can cause muscle rigidity and tension, reduce energy exertion and can decrease the person’s appetite.continues to persist

  5. Some common sources of chronic pain were related to nerve, muscle and bone injuries. • Though chronic pain is poorly understood, medical professionals used variety of treatment course to treat this type of pain. • One of which is the use of TENS machineorTranscutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) machine, it is a form of therapy that induces low electrical voltage to reduce pain.

  6. When the impulses stimulates nerves of the affected areas, it blocks or scramble the pain signals going to the brain, and therefore reducing the pain felt by the person. • Tens unit can treat different types of muscle and nerve pain accompanied by illnesses like osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, though pain is relieved during therapy sessions, its total effectiveness has not yet been proved.

  7.  If you wonder if TENS machine is safe, Medical practitioner can attest that eachTENS Unitto be safe as long as instructions in usage of machine were carefully followed. •  it can also be combined to traditional treatment as desired by the patient and approved by the medical practitioner.
