Students H:Drive (Home) • How to locate your H:Drive • It is important for students to check to see if they have a H:Drive. • If you are scanning using the new printers in college, the printer automatically creates a ‘scans’ folder in your H:Drive. • If your H:Drive has not been created please contact a member of the Learning Resource Centre, IT & Media Suite staff.

  3. How to check you have a H:Drive • Click the folder icon on the taskbar • Select computer

  4. How to check you have a H:Drive • In the ‘Network Location’ area you should see your H:Drive. • As a member of staff my H:Drive shows my name • As a student your H:Drive will show your college ID number

Where to Save Your Work • Save • H:Drive • SkyDrive • Memory Stick • Never • Save to the desktop • Save to the documents folder • Always • Click your save button regularly to ensure you don’t loose work through system failures • Create a backup Note: Please remember your work will be deleted at the end of the academic year.

  7. How to Access Student Email and SkyDrive Pro • Select the Internet Icon button on the taskbar • Locate the colleges Virtual Learning Environment page • close any internet pagesthat are not needed • College Virtual Learning Environment page

  8. How to Access Student Email and SkyDrive Pro • Select the Email button • Log into Office 365 • Enter your college email address: • 1234567@kirkleescollege.ac.uk • Enter your date of birth in full • 01121996 • Click Sign in

  10. How to Access Student Email and SkyDrive Pro • To switch to your SkyDrive Pro select the SkyDrive link

  11. How to Access Student Email and SkyDrive Pro • Your SkyDrive Pro account will open • The first time you login to SkyDrive the system needs time to register your account • The next time you access all features should be available Jo Blogg

  16. How to Access your course on the Virtual Learning Environment • Select the Internet Icon button on the taskbar • Locate the colleges Virtual Learning Environment page • by closing any internet pagesthat are not needed. • College Virtual Learning Environment page

  17. How to Access your course on the Virtual Learning Environment • Log in • Your username is your college ID ie, 1234567 • Your password is date of birth in full ie, 01121996 • Click Login

  18. How to Access your course on the Virtual Learning Environment • Your home page will display showing your courses under the heading ‘My courses’ • Make sure when finished to log out in the right hand corner of the screen.

Further Help • As a drop in student to our Learning Resource Centre you can get assistance from any member of staff • As a group your tutor can book you in for a hands on demonstration (Huddersfield Centre) • E-learning courses are in development, these will be placed on the VLE for students in other centres. Tutors will be notified when these are available.
