  2. Mount Fuji • Highest Mountain in Japan at 3776 meters high • It’s a dormant volcano that last errupted in 1707 • Lies west of Tokyo and surrounded by five lakes • Activities include: paragliding, climbing, biking etc…

  3. Hiroshima • August 6, 1945 marked the day Hiroshima was hit by US by atomic bomb • Now in Hiroshima sits a peace memorial that many people visit

  4. Yokohama Bay Bridge • 860 meters long and crosses the Tokyo Bay • It lies in one of the largest industrial and sea trading area of japan

  5. Daisetsuzan National Park • The park is a group of volcanoes in center of Hokkaido • Consists of subartic/subalpine climate • Contains over 230 species of birds and 44 species of mammals

  6. Japanese Alps • Series of mountain ranges that vary in height • Attractions: popular skiing and mountain climbing

  7. Tokyo • Capital of Japan that used to be known as Edo or “Castle Town” • One of the largest financial capitals of the world containing 23 wards

  11. Meiji Jingu Shrine • Popular destination for tourists • Shrine dedicated to Meiji (divine soul emperor) • Used to commemorate with him after his passing

  12. Sinchi Chinatown, Nagasaki • Oldest Chinatown in the world • “Feels like you are in China but in Japan” • Large tourist attraction because it used to be the only means into China from Japan during isolation time

  13. Iwankuni • Castle town at the mouth of Nishiki River • Contains a five arch bridge that was made in 1673 • Popular place to see the Japanese Cherry Blossoms

  14. Sandankyo Gorge • One of the most famous gorges in Japan • Beautiful scenery and wildlife all over • Peaceful place to relax and enjoy the view
