  2. The substance in a reaction which causes the reaction be over is the limiting reagent. • The reagent which is not the limiting reagent (more than required for the reaction to complete) is called excess. • The product amounts depend on the limiting reagent and not the one in excess.

  3. Percentage yield • Percentage yield is : • Actual yield x 100 Theoretical yield • Actual yield is the amount really produced in an experiment/production plant • Theoretical yield is the amount obtained when we do calculation or the amount expected to be produced. • In an experiment, actual yield is always smaller than theoretical yield.
