9. Ways to Use a First Aid Kit in an Emergency • Burns: (Gloves, Scissors, Pads, Bandage) Always put on gloves before administering First Aid! If clothes stick to the burned tissue, the scissors can be used to cut away clothes, in order to better treat wound. Once the burned area is separated from the rest of the clothes, cover it with sterile gauze pads and wrap with gauze bandage.

10. Ways to Use a First Aid Kit in an Emergency 2) Bleeding: (Gloves, Scissors, Pads, Bandage) Always put on gloves before administering First Aid! Locate bleeding wound and use scissors to gain better access if necessary. Then cover the wound with sterile gauze pads and tightly wrap with bandage.

11. Ways to Use a First Aid Kit in an Emergency 3) Splinters: (Alcohol Wipe, Tweezers, Band Aid) Always put on gloves before administering First Aid! Sterilize the tweezers with an alcohol wipe. Then grab splinter with sterilized tweezers and remove it. Cover with appropriate size band aid.

13. Lets Make a First Aid Kit • What do I need? • A container (Shoe box, pencil box, coffee tin, ect.) • Label& Decorate container. • 10 different items to address common injuries. • Be creative! You can use House hold items, look around!
