  1. LESSON 31 CONNECTIONS • Some people believe who believe in evolution say that each day of creation was really billions of years in length. Using at least two Bible passages from our lesson, demonstrate that the Bible doesn’t allow for that interpretation. Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31 = “and there was evening, and there was morning…” Exodus 20:11 = “in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth…”

  2. LESSON 31 CONNECTIONS • A book Ted was reading for his class report stated repeated that humans are just another of many animals. What does the Bible say about the creation of humans that shows that God made humans as a special creation, separate and different from the animals? God personally formed man, while he spoke everything else into existence. God also made humans in his image (holy) and gave them authority to rule over the rest of the creatures.

  3. LESSON 31 CONNECTIONS • One of Cody’s classmates has a learning disability. One day he confided in Cody that he is depressed because he knows that it will always be hard to keep up with his class. What have you learned about God’s creation to encourage him? God made each of us a special creation. He used his power and wisdom to make us who we are. We can trust God to help us get through the challenges of life.

  4. THE APOSTLES’ CREED – 1ST ARTICLEGOD TAKES CARE OF HIS CREATION Lesson 32 Faith Foundations Course One

  5. HOW DOES OUR HEAVENLY FATHER CONTINUE TO TAKE CARE OF HIS CREATION?

  6. HE PROVIDES FOR US • Recall the Bible story of Noah is Genesis 8:20—9:3. Evaluate this statement: The promises recorded in 8:21,22 were promises that God would continue to provide for his people. True. God promised no more destroying the world, and that there would always be seasons for planting and harvesting food.

  7. HE PROVIDES FOR US • How did God provide food for Noah and his family by changing their diet after the flood? God continued to care for them by providing meat in addition to plants for food.

  8. HE PROVIDES FOR US • Read Psalm 145:15,16. Because our faith is weak, we sometimes worry that we might not be able to take care of our families. What does the psalmist tell us in these verses that reminds us we don’t need to worry? God opens his hands and pours out his blessings upon all his creatures, including us, satisfying all our needs.

  9. HE PROVIDES FOR US • God doesn’t provide for us by having food appear in our refrigerators. How does he provide for us? He give us the health and ability to earn a living, grants success to our work, and provides rain for crops and health for animals for food.

  10. HE PROVIDES FOR US • Read 1 Peter 5:7. What does the word anxiety mean? Worry.

  11. HE PROVIDES FOR US 6. What simple truth takes away any reason for worrying about our physical lives? God cares for us.

  12. HE PROVIDES FOR US • Krista’s father was injured in an accident and won’t be able to work for more than a year. “I don’t see how we are going to make it,” Krista sobbed to a friend. What could the friend tell her to calm her fears? Because God cares for you (1 Peter 5:7), you know he will provide for you.

  13. KEY POINT #1 Our heavenly Father richly and daily provides for all our needs.

  14. HE PROTECTS US • Recall the Bible story of Moses as a baby in Exodus 2:1-10. Pharaoh had issued an edict that all the male Israelite children were to be killed. How did God use each of the following people to protect Moses from being killed. a. His mother She hid Moses to keep him alive.

  15. HE PROTECTS US • Recall the Bible story of Moses as a baby in Exodus 2:1-10. Pharaoh had issued an edict that all the male Israelite children were to be killed. How did God use each of the following people to protect Moses from being killed. b. His sister She watched over him in the basket and courageously approached Pharaoh’s daughter to offer her mother as a nurse.

  16. HE PROTECTS US • Recall the Bible story of Moses as a baby in Exodus 2:1-10. Pharaoh had issued an edict that all the male Israelite children were to be killed. How did God use each of the following people to protect Moses from being killed. c. Pharaoh’s daughter She took the child home and raised him rather than letting him be killed.

  17. HE PROTECTS US • In Psalm 91:11, God speaks of a way he protects us. What is that? Through his angels.

  18. HE PROTECTS US • Evaluate this statement: If we really believe in God and that he protects us through his angels, we shouldn’t rely on medicines and medical technology to keep us healthy. God has the power to take care of us. God gives us good health. He has blessed us by giving us medicines and the skill to develop technology. He may use those blessings to keep us healthy or return us to health.

  19. HE PROTECTS US • Read Psalm 91:10. God hasn’t promised that we will never have trouble or sickness in our lives. What has he promised? No problems or disaster will really harm us.

  20. HE PROTECTS US • Read Romans 8:28. Sometimes God permits troubles to come into our lives. What does God promise about these troubles? They are sent to us by God for our good.

  21. HE PROTECTS US • Ron could have played professional basketball, but a car accident injured him and prevented that. God tells us that in all things he works for our good. In what possible ways might the accident have been for Ron’s good. When Ron became a star, he may have forgotten about God and lived an immoral lifestyle like other famous people. God might be preparing Ron for teaching others what really is important in life.

  22. HE PROTECTS US • Read Psalm 121:3,4. What comfort do we find in the fact that God’s doesn’t sleep? He always is watching over us.

  23. HE PROTECTS US • What is the greatest harm that could happen to us? That we would lose our faith.

  24. HE PROTECTS US • Read Psalm 19:7. What blessing has God given to keep that from happening? His law (Word).
