    3. Silken Soft, smooth, and shining. Sadie�s hair is mass of silken curls.

    4. Lumbering Moving about in clumsy way. The elephant was lumbering through the forest.

    5. swallows Takes in food or liquid through the mouth and passes it down the throat into the stomach.

    6. Lurk To lie hidden. The criminal was lurking in the bushes.

    7. Shimmer To shine with a soft light. The lamp shimmered in the dark room.

    8. Eerie Strange in a scary way. The creaking door made an eerie sound.

    9. Biome A community of living things. This enclosed area is an example of a tropical biome. ocean biome

    10. Survival Life. Bears in Alaska have a warm coat of fur to help with their survival in the cold winters.

    11. Saguaro A type of cactus that is tall and has few branches.

    12. Nocturnal Staying awake at night and sleeping during the day. An owl is a nocturnal animal because it hunts at night.

    13. Crevices Narrow cracks. There were deep crevices in the mountain.
