The family and friends have to attend both the wake, while others can attend either of the wake events. Men wear a black suit and black tie with a white shirt and women too dress in black. Everyone at the funeral ought to have a Buddhist rosary. At some places, guests are expected to offer presents to the grieving family which can be in form of money as well. - - - Burning the deceased - Most Buddhists cremate the body of the deceased as the great Buddha was cremated. The body of the dead is cremated within 3 days of the death. If the deceased was an influential person, his body remains are kept in the temple for a year. -
