  5. HOW TO ASK FOR A HEARING • SIMPLE! • WRITE A LETTER • WILL BE DENIED IF COURT ACTION TO DETERMINE SAME ISSUE IS PENDING

  6. THE HEARING ITSELF • HEARING OFFICER • DCF BURDEN TO PROVE TP IS APPROPRIATE TO CHILD’S NEEDS • CHIEF ATTORNEY OR PARALEGAL REPRESENTS DCF • ON THE RECORD • WITNESSES UNDER OATH • INFORMAL

  7. DON’T LIKE THE RESULTS? • APPEAL • SUPERIOR COURT FOR JUVENILE MATTERS • COURT WILL THEN HAVE JURISDICTION TO HEAR THE MATTER PURSUANT TO UAPA
