  3. HELPS IN : • Keeping track of progress • Identify learning gaps • Understand how pupils learn and what they learn • Tap their strengths and weaknesses • Give remediation where required

  4. SCHOOL BASED CONTINUOUS & COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION SYSTEM • Reduces stress on children • Makes evaluation comprehensive • Provides space for teachers for creative teaching • Provides a tool of diagnosis & remediation • Provides learners with greater skills

IT WILL HELP IN : • Elimination of chance element & subjectivity • De-emphasize memorization • Incorporate assessment in different situations of learning • Space for assessment in different ways, for the benefit of children • Incorporate scholastic & co-scholastic aspects of learner’s development

  6. Give descriptive assessment picture of the pupil • Assessment on continuous basis • Improvement and examination reform • Use of grades give broader assessment and reduces comparisons.

  9. ASSESSMENT WILL BE DONE IN SCHOLASTIC & CO-SCHOLASTIC AREAS Scholastic includes: A:- Academics (Core Subjects + IT) B:- Work Experience (Community Service) Art Education (SUPW) Physical & Health Education

  10. ASSESSMENT OF SCHOLASTIC AREA ACADEMICS: Two kinds of assessment : FORMATIVE – Continuously during the term SUMMATIVE – At the end of the term

  11. SCHOOL BASED EVALUATION PART I – SCHOLASTIC A & B PART I A : Academic Assessment Formative – 2 (FA1 + FA2) Weightage = 10% + 10% = 20% Summative : At the end of each term (Two terms only) Two Summatives in a year SA1 = 20% - First Term SA2= 40% - Second Term

  12. TOTAL First Term = FA1+FA2 =( 10%+10%) = 20% SA1 = 20% 40% Second Term= FA3+FA4=(10+10) =20% SA2 =40% 60% First Term + Second Term 40% + 60 % = 100%

  13. EACH FORMATIVE WILL CONSIST OF: • Class works periodically • Oral work periodically • Projects one or two • Activities one or two • Assignments one or two of different kinds

  14. An average will be computed of the work done in two periods in each term. I TERM April-May-Half of July = FA1 (15th July) Half of July –Aug-Sept = FA2 (10th Sept) II TERM Oct-Nov-Dec = FA3 (22nd Dec) Jan-Feb = FA4 (27th Feb) NOTE: ASSESSMENT DONE ON 9 POINT SCALE

  36. CHECK LIST FOR EMOTIONAL SKILLS Does the child : • Say “I’ll never win / I’m just not lucky”, during an activity • Choose an activity according to his ability • Scream at class mates when angry or disturbed • Try to do the task again if declared unsuccessful in the first attempt

Try to improve weaker areas by putting in regular practice • Try to take help of teacher/partner in difficult situation • Try to get secluded when under stress • Try to take up some healthy activity like reading, gardening or playing during stressful time • Become argumentative during discussions • Show disrespect to the system or discipline of the school/class
