  1. 課程:【論文研討】電機系碩博士班、電信所丙組論文研討時間:2012.03.27(Wed.) 13:20~15:10地點:工程五館105室(EE105) 講者:潘正聖博士 Samuel C. Pan received the BSEE from NTU in 1980, and the M.S. and Ph.D. in EE from the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1984 and 1986, respectively. In 1987, he worked for Intel on Flash/CMOS device technologies and also Pentium microprocessor design. In 1996, he returned to Taiwan and joined Macronix, working on Q/R and later in charge of technology development. In 2003, he worked for TSMC, focusing on yield of next generation technologies. Since September 2012, his effort moved on to University/External Research. His current interest is on frontier semiconductor research for future information technologies. Dr. Pan is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Eta Kappa Nu. Title of Talk:Fundamental Technology for Information Era of the Next 100 years- Past, Now and Future of Semiconductor Research Abstract: Geometry scaling will end within next 10 years, but new inventions in coming decades will carry semiconductor technology into atomistic level with functionality and performance beyond our imagination. To have a better perspective, the past, now and future of semiconductor research will be discussed. It is believed that disruptive nature of nanoelectronics is going to play the pivotal role for improving future well-being of mankind
