  22. BOUNDARIES IN QUESTION: DESIGNING WOMEN

  23. This conference is sponsored by the Designated Emphasis in Women,

  24. Gender and Sexuality, the Beatrice Bain Research Group, The Ford

  25. Foundation, and the Department of Women's Studies.

  26. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, MARCH 6-7, 1998

  27. UC BERKELEY CAMPUS - THE LIPMAN ROOM - BARROWS HALL

  29. One page proposals are being solicited for the 1997 Boundaries in

  30. Question Conference: a yearly symposium spotlighting graduate student

  31. work in feminist research, theory, and practice. This year's theme,

  32. Designing Women, suggests that women are simultaneously constructed by

  33. and reconstructing their spaces, places, images and identities. The

  34. goal of this conference is to create an international community of

  35. students which fosters dialogue across disciplines and professional

  36. schools.

  37. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  39. Femininities Violence Sports Grrl Power/Youth Cultures

  40. Globalization/Transnationalism Institutional Practices Conflicts

  43. Politics Jurisprudence and Legal Issues Postcolonialism Bodies and

  44. Body Practices Performance Pieces
