  4. Amazon • The Amazon rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world. • The Amazon is home to one in ten of all animal and plant species. • Lots of the Amazon has been cut down - an area the size of three football pitches is disappearing every minute.

  7. Atlantic forest • Atlantic forest is found in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina • Home to lots of plants and animals • Lots of the Atlantic forest has been cut down

  9. Caatinga • The Caatinga is a dry forest area in Brazil. • The Caatinga is home to lots of bird species . • Many of the plants in the Caatinga are not found anywhere else in the world.

  11. Cerrado • The Cerrado is the largest woodland-savannah in South America. • 5% of all known species in the world and three in ten Brazilian species are found here. • It is one of the most threatened areas in Brazil.

  13. Pantanal • The Pantanal is the world’s largest wetland. • The Pantanal is home to lots of animals and plants. • In the rainy season over 80% of the Pantanal is flooded.
