  1. 3-Day Supply of WaterThomas Buckner • Introduction • The Purpose is to gather data through correct data collection methods and to represent the data collected in the appropriate manner. • This is data showing representation of students response to a question does your household have a 3-day supply of water for everyone who lives there? A three day supply of water is equal to one gallon per person per day. • The information represented in both charts came fro m Ferris Student University Survey. Administered and collected by Ferris State University. • Level of Measure • The level of measure represented by the two different data charts is nominal. • It is nominal because the data can be named and categorized. It is also nominal because the yes, no, and not sure categories can be counted, but, no other operations can be done with the data. • Nominal level of measure is data where objects or events are named and categorized. The categories have to be distinct from one another, but at the same time exhaust all possible ways of presenting the data. No other mathematical operations can be performed with the data.
