Introduction of Rotaract • Rotaract is an international organization of service clubs for men and women aged 18-30. • Aim to foster leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high ethical standards in business and promotes international understanding and peace. • Today, there are some 170,000 members in more than 7,600 Rotaract Clubs around the world.

  3. Introduction of Rotaract Club of Macau • Mother club – Rotary Club of Macau • Establish in 1988 • 38 members

  4. The Rotaract Club of Macau Our 4 main services: • Community services • Club services • Professional services • International services

  5. Community Service • To develop knowledge and understanding of the needs, problems and opportunities in the community and worldwide. • To emphasize respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual.

  6. Club Service • To recognize, practice and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities.

  7. Professional Service • To develop professional and leadership skill. • To recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve.

  8. International Service • To provide opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill to all people.

  9. GOODWILL AMBASSADORPROGRAM

Aim of International Service • To provide opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill to all people. • To develop professional and leadership skill for young professional between 18 - 28 years old. • To recognize outstanding young professionals in Macau and offer them professional development opportunity. • To promote the spirit of Rotaract Club of Macau (RCM), spread the goodwill of the Club and recruit potential members.

  11. Goodwill Ambassador Program • “Goodwill Ambassador Program” (GWA) is one of the most important International Service projects of RCM. • RCM will organize a competition and a FREE culture exchange trip for the winning team as reward. • RCM will get sponsors from local organizations and Macau Education and Youth Bureau.

  12. Goodwill Ambassador Program • Winning team and at least four RCM members will go to the participating Club’s country for the cultural exchange trip • Winning team members will be fully sponsored. • Participating club(s) will be supporting RCM to organize culture exchange activities, professional development visits, city tours, joint community services, events etc. • The role of the selected team will act as goodwill ambassadors of Macau to promote Macau in selected country. • The role of GWA members will promote RCM, spread goodwill and execute the Rotaract spirit and sharing experience with the participating club(s).

Benefit of theGoodwill Ambassador Program • Improve communicate skills and self-development. • Great opportunity for professional development. • Facilitate teamwork and the importance of working in teams • Gain a better understanding of participants’ own countries and outside countries. • Get involve in community event and obtain new knowledge and experience. • A chance to gain a FREE opportunity to explore a different world, meet new people, obtain valuable knowledge and once-in-life experience through an organized cultural exchange trip. • and much more to be explored…

  14. Candidate Requirement for the Competition • GWA competition is open to all higher academic / university students, graduates or above who are Macau residents aged from 18 to 28. • Participants must form a group of 2 to 4 persons. • Applicants should possess positive abilities that are competent for being goodwill ambassadors for Macau. Patience, open-mindedness and initiative of the applicants are considered. • Bi-language communication skill is an advantage. • With valid travel document to the selected destination.

  15. Competition Requirement • Candidates need to prepare an English written summary report (within 3000 words) on “An event that builds an international image of Macau”, focusing on 4 directions: tourism, social affair, infrastructure and culture. • Attend interview hosted by broad members of RCM. • Qualified teams will enter final stage of the competition and present their written report. • All activities incurred in the competition will be conducted in English.

Selection Criteria RCM will select the suitable candidates by considering: • The credibility of information stated in their application forms. • The quality of the written summary report submitted. • The performance of the applicants during the interview. • The content, creativity of the 15-minute oral presentation. • The spirit of team work.
