  2. Novacek, Lauri 1/13/2011 At Schuyler middle school the other jr. hi. math teacher & myself are putting the NeSA practice test on our Promethean boards as board work to start

  3. Redemske, Christine 1/14/2011 We're doing some things very similar to others... We had our students take the paper & pencil practice test in December to collect baseline data. We are using that data to choose what strands to focus on and are doing problems with the kids similar to the practice test questions as warm-ups.

  4. Stiller, Margaret 1/14/2011 Plattsmouth is trying multiple ways to help students. We have blown up the reference sheet and placed in all math and science classrooms and given all students a copy to keep. We have given the practice test twice and have worked together to create additional practice questions. We are currently developing a quick review to be run on our promethean boards once a week with three questions. In addition, students struggling on practice tests are brought in to tutorial for additional help and instruction.

  5. Royuk, Kyle 1/14/2011 At Crete High School, we are presenting every math student with 5-10 practice problems each week. We will use the problems as a "warm-up" at least once a week. We also decided to post the students scores on their report card and transcripts, hoping this would help motivate some of our "better" students to try harder on the test.

  6. Kersch, Cyndi 1/13/2011 I am working off the LtoJ idea.I have put the practice questions for NeSAm into a power point as my form A.I plan to fill in form B and C with questions from my text that are similar.I’ve been demoing a couple of problems a day and I plan to use it as a mini LtoJ at the beginning of class until we take it.

  7. Vosler, Janice 1/13/2011 Our 8th grade math teacher is using practice test questions as "bell ringers" this semester. Hummel, Larry 1/13/2011 We are going over a problem or 2 each week from the practice test.

  8. Pierce, Lori 1/13/2011 I have taken the questions from the math practice test and posted them on posterboard. Then twice a week I put up a problem and students solve it and then share their solutions. I teach 6th grade, but I have posted the questions from the 5th, 6th and 7th grade practice tests.

  9. Applegarth, Staci 1/11/2011 We have discussed using L to J as an extensive review to keep the topics covered throughout the year and in previous grades (particularly Geometry) fresh in students minds. I am considering using questions from the practice tests as well as problems just from our textbooks for my question bank. If anyone else can think of places where I could get problems that would be similar to the problems on the test, please let me know!!
