INTRODUCTION • Whatis the humanistic management? • Birth of the humanisticmanagement: - 1990 Mr. Minghettitalksabout a new business control - 1995 “ Biblioteca Agip” by Mr. Minghetti, a work aboutcommunication and interaction - 1997 “ Hamlet” by Mr. Minghetti, dialoguebetween the membersof the staff - 2004 birth of the “ Manifesto of the humanistic management” thanksto Mr. Minghetti and Mrs. Cutrano - 2006 “Nulla due volte”, anothersteptowardsaninterdisciplinary vision by Mr. Minghetti and Mrs. Szymborska - 2009birth of TRE60, a newsocialmedia in which the humanistic management isreallyapplied • Nowadays Obama can beconsideredthe first humanistic manager in politics

HUMANISTIC MANAGER • The role in the company :collaboration, dialogue, understandingthe “soul” of the firm, open mentalityand strong ideas • The innovative approach:based on opening ( sharingthe information), peering ( horizontalcommunication), comparison and groupsharing, global action ( consideringthe hole world as a nation)

  4. HUMANISTIC MANAGER • Understand and utilize the capabilityof the staff and of the company :confidence, respect, collaboration, play. • Peolplewith talent: the geniousispreciousfor the firm and forhiscolleagues. The importanceof the team.

  5. HUMANISTIC MANAGER • The language: clear, effective, notboring, ableto join differentkindsofpeople. Never a seductivelanguage. • Convivial business: peacefulworkingenvironment, no stress, cooperation. The leader as a man ableto motivate.

  6. OBAMA THE HUMANISTIC MANAGER • Itisveryimportanttounderlinethat Obama isnotinvolved in a company contest; the politicalsettingisverydifficoult and heis a greatinnovator. Hisdifferentapproach can be a road thatotherpoliticians can follow.

  7. OBAMA THE HUMANISTIC MANGER • Energy = motivationbyinvolvement. Importantto show energy, haveenergy and transmititto the others. The leader as a common man. The citizens are the centreofeveryprogramme: “ yes we can”. • Dialoguewithcitizens: web 2.0, open forquestions. Questionsduringhismeetings.

The leader isoneof the “group”. • Valorisationof people: they are important, they are the future, the past and the present. They can change the situation becausethey are special.

  9. OBAMA THE HUMANISTIC MANAGER • Technology: web 2.0, social network, blog, chat. Everyone can talk, discuss and suggest. Open mind, faster and easiercommunication. • Leader thanksto the company: understand the setting, the people, the situation and put them at the centreofeverything.

  10. OBAMA THE HUMANISTIC MANAGER • Storytelling: the words in ordertoempathizeoneself in someone. Tell a story nearto the listeners. Convince and persuade. Obama as a common man, as a hero, as the new Robin Hood. • Doesheusehypnosis? Pauses, movementswithhands, notveryclear or extremelyevidentsentences.

  11. CONLUSION • Obama is a greatcommunicator. Heuses a lotofthetechniquesof the humanistic management, especially the dialogue, the useoftechnology and the capabilitytospur the others. Heis the first humanistic manager in politic.
