  9. School Ties..... A gentle reminder.... You should have your tie with your every day. If you do not, we do have some in the Guidance department, where we will exchange it for something of worth – like a phone or house keys. We ask this as people have not been returning their ties and then we need to ask them to pay £7.00. (However, we really hope we do not need to see you as your tie is a very important part of your uniform...)

Revised Discipline Procedures @ Lasswade HS • All staff and pupils will follow new procedures starting from Monday 24th February. • The procedures are about SUPPORTING POSITIVEBEHAVIOUR. • Remember our Values: We are about EFFORT& RESPECT. • I expect HIGH STANDARDS – so should YOU. • This is YOUR WORK. You come to your work to LEARN. • It is not acceptable for learning to be disrupted.

It is your RIGHT to learn in a calm, safe and orderly classroom & school. • It is your RESPONSIBILITY to behave appropriately (calm, polite, well-mannered), to listen, to follow rules and to try your best to follow the school values: be determined, be respectful, be ambitious and be motivated: EFFORT - TRY YOUR BEST.

SEEMIS Demerit on your record. Step 4:Out of Classwith Referral Card. SEEMIS Referral to Principal Teachers. Parent Involved. Step 5: Out of Department with Referral Card. Senior Leadership Team involved. & Parent Involved.

  18. Lasswade HS Discipline Procedures Step 6: Procedures for Return to Department & to Class: Complete Teacher & Department Sanctions Complete Reflective Apology Take part in a Restorative Process. You can expect Consistent Practice. Our School Procedures will be underpinned by: Positive Recognition& Support for YOU. e.g. Praise for Effort, Stamps, SEEMIS ‘Merit’, Reward Charts, Positive Praise Postcards & Letters, Prize Draws, Celebration of Success Events: The RIGHT to LEARN & ACHIEVE.

Health & Safety @ Lasswade We are introducing changes to use of four Stairwells: • Stairwell D at Pupil Support/Canteen is an ‘up’ stair • Music Department (Stairwell C) as a ‘down’ stair • Technical/Maths stair (Stairwell A) as an ‘up’ stair • Art/Technical stair (Stairwell B) as a ‘down’ stair • At interval, lunch and close of school ALL stairs are ‘down’ stairs. Signage will be in place this week. The changes will be ENFORCED from Friday 21st onwards. Staff & Prefects will be on duty & patrol.
