  1. In the Name of Allâh the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Ramadan Kareem The Night of Decree (Al-Qadr) and its Signs By Dr. Ahmed Abdu Awad

  3. I seek refuge in Allâh from Satan (Shaitan), the accursed In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Verily, We have sent it (this Qur’ân) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree). And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (decree) is? The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a Thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrîl (Gabrîl)] by Allâh’s Permission with all Decrees, (All that night), there is Peace (and Goodness from Allâh to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.

  4. The night of Decree (Al-Qadr) was named as such for its grandeur and magnificence, for it is the most important night in the whole year as when you say for example that someone is of great significance i.e. he is of great honor. • It is a blessed night, Allâh revealed in it the entire Qur’ân by means of Jibrîl (Gabrîl) from the Preserved Tablet to the nearest heaven, Allah said: • “Verily, We have sent it (this Qur’ân) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree).” • "إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ* وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ” • Jibrîl (Gabrîl) descended from heaven with the Qur’ân to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in 23 Years

  5. Allâh Almighty defines andrecords all what will happen during the year such as the moment of death and provision (sustenance) that will be transcribed from the Preserved Tablet – then Israfil (one of the Angels) delivers it to the Angels who organize the state of the earth, Jibrîl (Gabrîl) is responsible for the wind – Michael is responsible for the rain and provision (sustenance) – Israaiyl captures the souls. Allâh Almighty said “Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments.” • " فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ ".

  6. The privilege of worshipping in this night than any other night, Allâh Almighty said : “The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a Thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allâh in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). In the old days a Jew worshipper to be considered a worshipper he had to worship Allâh and perform the night prayer for a 1000 months and not disobey Allâh – and the average ages of the first nations’ ages was longer than the Muslim nations.... ” لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ ”

  7. that is why Allâh bestowed on them the Night of Decree (Al-Qadr) Therein the Angels descend to earth and it is said that their number exceeds the earth’s pebbles and Jibrîl (Gabrîl) the Rûh shakes hands with all the believers then their bodies shiver and their eyes weep and the Angels supplicate for welfare, prosperity, mercy, pardon and forgiveness to all those who are worshipping Allâh or reading the Qur’ân or praying, Allâh Almighty said: “Therein descend the angels and the Rûh [Jibrîl (Gabrîl)] by Allâh’s Permission with all Decrees " تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ ".

  8. From the Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbel and from Abu Hanifa the Night of Decree (Al-Qadr) may be on the Night of 27 of Ramadan because the word “it is” is the word Number 27 in the Sûrat and it is also said that the words “the Night of Decree (Al-Qadr)” was mentioned three times and the number of its letters are nine and their sum is 27 and God knows best, also the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said to seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan…from the odd nights. “(All that night), there is Peace (and Goodness from Allâh to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn. “ In the first beam of dawn. ” سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ ”.

  9. The night of Decree (Al-Qadr) is anight of pardon from sins for those who established it in sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allâh Almighty, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allâh, then all his previous sins will be forgiven”. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to live in seclusion in the Last ten nights of Ramadan and in the last year of his life he secluded for 20 days….And Jibrîl (Gabrîl) used to revise the Qur’ân with him once in Ramadan but in the last year of his life he revised it twice.

  10. Al- Sayeda Aisha (may God be pleased with her)asked the Prophet (Peace be upon him) what to say in the Night of Decree (Al-Qadr), He said (Peace be upon him) say: “O Allâh You are the Most Forgiving, You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

  11. From the signs of the next Morning of the Night of Decree (Al-Qadr) The sun in that morning rises without any beam of light, Why? Because the first to rise in heaven is Jibrîl (Gabrîl) stretching his wings so that he covers the sun’s beam and that is why it is with no beam and he calls the Angels to rise to heaven while supplicating for the believers and asking Allâh to forgive them.

  12. May Allâh help us to reach the night of Qadr and bless us to reap its rewards in full. May Allâh accept our good deeds and forgive our sins. Amen
