  3. What ‘s the Mlitary Cross It is a relay competition composed of four athletes: three walkers and one biker. New as Individual race open too. • Military units (category A) • Sport Association (category B) - Policemen - Border policemen - Firemen - Civil protection • Individual (category D) New category • Women (category E) • Junior (cat F) until 18 years old category C

  5. 5 - 7 teams start every 5 minutes

  6. Military Cross Bellinzona First leg : Viale stazione - Saleggi The first runner will depart from viale stazione and, pass Street Orico and will reach the inside of the castle Castelgrande. The runners then go down along the bulwark up to the Saleggina. At the Saleggina each runner must throw a hand grenade at a target. If he doesn’t hit the target he will have to run an additional 200 m.

Military Cross Bellinzona Biker: Saleggi - High School From the Saleggina the team biker will board a modern Mountain Bike and ride to the area of the city High school, where he will have to fire a biathlon rifle at a target. If the biker misses the target, he will have to complete an additional turn.

  11. Military Cross Bellinzona Third Leg: Liceo - Sasso Corbaro The third runner climbs the steep hill to the castle , crossing the city centre to reach the upper castle “Sasso Corbaro”.

  13. Military Cross Bellinzona Fourth leg: Sasso Corbaro - Piazza del Sole The fourth and last runner crosses the district of Artore to reach the finish line in Piazza del Sole.

  18. Directions to the race / lodging Near the youth sport centre (see first map) (“centro gioventù e sport “) The rooms are simple but comfortable : - 20 euro for one night with breakfast (including sheets) - 12 euro for the lunchmeal
